When this happens, cosmetic surgery has drastically altered their appearance, and not always for the better. However, if cosmetic surgery is done right the changes should not inspire a social media frenzy or gossip. Alterations should be subtle, where friends and colleagues say, “Wow, you look great! Did you take a few days off?”
So, which celebrities have avoided the temptation to over-do it and have instead showed us that less really is more?
Ariel Winter
Last year, the 18-year-old Modern Family star admitted to undergoing breast reduction surgery, saying she had suffered with back pain and discomfort. In a Marie-Claire interview in 2015, the beauty admitted that she was teased and bullied a lot, especially on social media, about her large breasts. However, she stated she now feels she is exactly the way she’s “supposed to be.”
Sharon Osbourne
Sharon Osbourne has always been candid about her multiple plastic surgeries; the X Factor reality tv star admitted to the Daily Mail: “There’s not much I haven’t had tweaked, stretched, peeled, lasered, veneered, enhanced or removed altogether. I don’t think I’m as bad as some women – like Jocelyn ‘bride of’ Wildenstein.”
Amanda Redman
Last year, the 42-year-old Redman admitted to the Daily Mail that she’d had Botox and fillers, saying: “I’ve had botox and fillers in the past, but then I stopped. I might do it again, or have a facelift – I never say never about anything.”
Betty White
This iconic star, now 94-years-old, admits to having had eyelid surgery, or a blepharoplasty in 1976, admitting that it may not have been nice to fool mother nature, but she is awfully glad she did!
Olivia Colman
This British beauty readily admitted to the Daily Mail that she has had Botox and LOVED (in caps) it, even initially hiding it from her husband, who found it “hilarious” when she later admitted it to him. The 42-year-old says she tries to get the procedure done when she has a big gap between roles.
