Plastic surgery doesn’t have a negative impact on people’s relationships

It’s always a very personal decision to choose to have plastic surgery. However, many people still factor in their loved ones when making it – particularly their partner.

IT NOW TRANSPIRES THAT THIS IS RARELY THE DEAL-BREAKER THAT MANY IN A RELATIONSHIP EXPECT IT TO BE.

According to a new Google survey commissioned by RealSelf, 45% of people say that plastic surgery wouldn’t change how they feel about their significant other if they have a procedure done. A further 38% also revealed that they would happy with their partner choosing to undergo certain procedures. Meanwhile, just 13% of people quizzed in the survey said that they would potentially think negatively of their partner for going under the knife.

MORE MEN ENJOYING PLASTIC SURGERY

The results coincide with the rising number of married people – particularly men – who have enjoyed the benefits of plastic surgery in recent years. Back in 2014 (when the number of men having cosmetic surgery had just shot up by 17%), the spike was put down to the fact that husbands now want to look as amazing as their surgically-enhanced wives do.
Discussing the trend, psychologist Amanda Hills told Mail Online: “The rise of the metrosexual man, personified by celebrities such as David Beckham and Shane Warne, has certainly put pressure on other men to look a certain way.” She added: “But mostly, I think men see women who have had surgery looking flawless and feel compelled to match them. They believe this is what women want.”
In addition, it seems men aren’t just happy with their girlfriends and wives going under the knife – they are actually rooting for them to do so. A survey by Voucher Codes Pro has previously found that 24% of men actually want their partner to undergo a form of cosmetic surgery since it will make them both look and feel better.
